COMING EVENTS

The Boucher Forest Foundation (BFF) invites you to take part in its third annual photo contest! Fall under the spell of the Boucher Forest and share your passion by sending us your best photo. This year there will be a winner for each season. Participants, therefore, may send us a photo for each season. However, a person may only win once during the year. At the end of the year, the winners will have their photos published in local newspapers and on the Foundation’s website.

The contest will take place from January 1 to December 31, 2011. Please take care to identify your photos properly and send them to the following address:

Clean-up 2011

In 4 years, the 'Clean-ups' carried out in the Boucher Forest, which have been made possible by the participation of volunteers including several students from neighbouring schools and the participation of the City of Gatineau have resulted in removing 17 tons of garbage from the Forest.

The Boucher Forest Foundation is, therefore, proud to announce that 'Clean-up 2011' will be held at the end of April 2011. All elementary and secondary schools, as well as sports and cultural associations, are welcome to participate.

2011 Boucher Forest Celebration

Thanks to numerous volunteers, including an impressive team of scientists, the 2010 edition of Boucher Forest Foundation bioblitz was a great success and resulted in 300 animal and plant varieties being inventoried. To access the inventory of the varieties click on the following link: results of bioblitz 2010.

This year, the bioblitz will be held at the end of May (27-28) as part of a huge family festival celebrating the biodiversity of the Boucher Forest as well as the benefits it provides to the Aylmer community and the entire region. Aside from the identification of species, we are adding an educational component and invite elementary (5th and 6th grades) and secondary schools interested in participating to contact us... During this celebration, we will offer a wide variety of activities, including workshops on fossils and walks to learn about the biodiversity of the forest and many other surprises.

It is definitely an event that you don’t want to miss!

Watch for more details. For any questions or to register, please contact us by e-mail (ffb@fondationforetboucher.ca) or by phone (819-923-8381).
