LOCATION OF THE BOUCHER FOREST
Located in the Aylmer sector of the City of Gatineau, the Boucher Forest represents the largest unprotected wooded area on its territory. Covering an area of over 700 acres, it extents to the North to Antoine-Boucher Road, to the East to Vanier Road, to the South to Allumettières Boulevard and to the West to Wilfrid-Lavigne Road. The plots in green belong to the municipality. The section in blue was recently transferred from the Ministère des transports du Québec to the Ministère du développement durable, de l’environnement et des parcs, who agreed to transfer the ownership to the Foundation. The rest is privately owned.
It is the last large natural refuge for wildlife which has been severely affected by residential development during recent years in the Aylmer sector.
