The study on the ecological value of the Boucher Forest by Aménatech commissioned by the City of Gatineau produced exceptional results. The ecological value of the Forest was assessed at 81*, which is very high and the value of environmental goods and services it provides to the community was assessed at over $6,000,000 annually.

The first Bioblitz organized by the Boucher Forest Foundation was a great success. Voluntary researchers inventoried over 300 animal and plant varieties in 24 hours and the public was able to take part in various information workshops.

Gatineau councillor finds fossils in forest
Gatineau Councillor Alain Riel found a cache of fossilized cephalopods,
similar to squid, octopus or cuttlefish, and the remnants of a coral reef
in the 700-acre Boucher Forest in the Aylmer sector of Gatineau.
